A one-person play festival What can be conveyed since it has been held for 23 years

Accumulated know-how is condensed over 2 days and shared

This is the first workshop held by “INDEPENDENCE,” which holds one-person play festivals all over the country every year, from the thought that “having works that actors can proudly say, 'It's their own work' may be useful for rich theatrical activities.” More than 600 works have been performed so far at the one-person play festival that began in 2001.
This time, the one-person playmaking know-how and points accumulated in it will be condensed and shared over 2 days. Independent producer Aiuchi Tadashi says, “I thought it would be nice if it would be easier for many people to work on a play alone by utilizing our knowledge of knowing the various methods of various people.”
The main blog for 2 days is “getting to know,” “watching,” “doing,” and “creating” one-person plays. The lecturers are the team that has produced works that have been particularly highly evaluated in “INDEPENDENT” until now, and “rather than 'teaching', it will be advice for each participant what they want to do” (Aiuchi).

Initiatives that also lead to awareness reform as an actor

This project has been promoted by INDEPENDENT for a long time, and the reason they wanted to host it is because they have realized the value of a solo play from the words of festival participants up until now. One-person play works that can be moved with minimal seating are easy to respond to performance opportunities, can also continue to be polished as training, and are a tool for expanding actor activities.
Also, by actually experiencing performances, it seems that their feelings become stronger, they notice how they are usually helped by their co-stars, and their awareness of the play changes, leading to a change in attitude as an actor.
Workshops that seem to be a time to expand an actor's life are scheduled to be held in the future on this occasion.
