An event week for theater creators held at the Oji Small Theater, a private theater in Kita-ku, Tokyo. Now that it's hard to connect with people, we will be holding participatory projects every day for a week.

In addition to the “one-day workshop day” and “leading workshop,” which were popular in the first installment held in March this year, etc., there are various contents, such as “joint auditions” for groups that cannot hold auditions due to anxiety about whether people will gather, and events for “presiding” and “producers,” which are the positions of one person in the chair group.
Furthermore, there is also the “Theatre World Karaoke No 1 Decision Battle Summer Campaign & Exchange Meeting,” etc., and it seems that communication that is different from everyday theatrical activities will also occur.

Looking at the theater world in 5 or 10 years

The reason why the Oji Small Theater has decided to host the second one this time is that when the first one was held, there were more applications than capacity for most of the projects, and I was keenly aware that “there are many theater people seeking encounters.”

“One of the major purposes of this event is 'for the future a little bit far'. Theaters also feel that new people are no longer entering the theater due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Among them, this event may be an opportunity to create works or find friends. Then the number of people doing theater may increase in 5 or 10 years. I put that kind of thought into it. This time, there will also be a subsidy for transportation expenses from afar, and I hope to get even more people involved.”

It seems like it will be a week filled with the wishes and feelings of the Oji Little Theater.
