“Leave no one behind” dance playground

“I want to eliminate children who are 'ineligible'”
A new dance WS born from such thoughts

The dance company CAT-A-TAC has carried out various experiments until now, under the motto of “dance performances and workshops that everyone can easily participate in.” What CAT-A-TAC will do in the three regions from December to January is “CAT-A-TAC's Asobiba Work.”
“I can't go because I'm preschool,” “I have a disability and I'm worried about whether I can enjoy it,” and “the urban area is far away, so I don't have a chance to experience art.” What was born based on the voices of those involved was this trial, which looked at people who tend to be “not eligible” when watching a theater or participating in WS. Families and children themselves don't know what interests them until they experience it. This project provides a welcome and free space for people who feel cramped in public places on a daily basis to experience art no matter what happens, and I hope that the fun experience there will lead to the next challenge. It is a dance playground that “leaves no one behind”, born from the perspective of those involved.

An inclusive space created through dialogue with professionals

Another strength of “CAT-A-TAC's Asobiba Work,” which is created along with the voices of those involved, is a program organized through dialogue with professionals in that field. Starting with staff working at each site of developmental support, early childhood education, and nursing schools, it seems that each program has been created after repeated dialogue with professionals in that field, such as art education professors and experts working in the community from a diversity perspective. Instead of just teaching dance unilaterally, try something suitable for the situation after realistically capturing “what is happening in the field.” Dance professionals and professionals from different industries have joined hands each time, and it seems like it will be a workshop that can only be experienced at “Asobiba.”
